TIMESTAMPS
1:46 Hello. Good morning from Rome. We are checking out tonight from Hotel Roma Aurella Antica.
1:54 We'll take a city tour. We'll walk around, and I'll try to show you as much as possible
2:00 in my walking tour. We will conclude our tour today, and take our flight back to Houston,
2:08 Texas. Stay tuned. Enjoy the city tour of Roma. Rome. Wow! Even from a distance, it's massive
2:18 stone arches and towering walls take the breath away. Look at that. Welcome to the Colosseum. One
2:27 of the most famous buildings in the world. Walking around the outside, you will notice the detailed
2:35 architecture. Rows of arches stacked on top of each other, weathered by time, but still standing
2:44 strong. The Colosseum is almost 2,000 years old and was initially called the Flavian Amphitheater.
3:07 It was the largest amphitheater ever built,
3:11 made from stone and concrete. The colosseum could hold about 50,000 to 80,000 people.
3:28 Near Rome, Colosseum, I see tall, elegant umbrella pines, also known as stone pines. Their wide flat
3:39 tops look like green umbrellas against the sky. These iconic trees are part of Rome's charm,
3:49 offering shade, beauty, and a peaceful contrast to the ancient stone of the Colosseum.
4:18 There, I see the arch of Constantine, located near the Colosseum was constructed in 315 AD.
4:34 It was built to commemorate Emperor Constantine's victory in a major battle at the Milvian Bridge.
4:46 It stands near the part of the arch where taken from older buildings. It shows the power
4:52 of Constantine and marks a significant shift towards Christianity and imperial continuity.
5:03 The Colosseum is a symbol of Roman power, architecture, and entertainment. A true
5:12 wonder of the ancient world. Today, it's a top tourist attraction in Rome,
5:19 Italy. People from all around the world come to see it, walk through its arches,
5:26 and imagine what life was like in ancient times. Roman citizens came here to watch
5:34 shows. The most popular events were gladiator fights, wild animal hunts, and mock battles.
6:10 Look at those seven honorary columns of the Basilica Julia. These seven columns
6:17 once stood in front of the Basilica Julia on the south side of the Forum Square.
6:42 The Roman Forum was the center of daily life in ancient Rome. Here,
6:49 people met to talk, trade, and take care of business.
7:39 This is the place where the important buildings, temples, and government offices were located.
7:47 Leaders gave speeches, held meetings, and made big decisions in the forum.
8:42 Some of the most famous buildings in the area include the Temple of Saturn and the
8:47 Senate House. Over time, the forum became the heart of Roman politics and religion.
12:18 Welcome to the Trevi Fountain, completed in 1762.
12:26 It is one of the most beautiful fountains in the world.
12:31 The fountain shows the sea god Oceanus riding a shell-shaped chariot. Look at the horses and the
12:42 sea creatures surrounding him, showing the power of the ocean. There is a belief that
12:50 if you throw a coin over your left shoulder, you will return to Rome one day. Every day,
12:57 thousands of euros are collected from the fountain and given to charity. The trevi fountain is also
13:05 famous in movies like La Dolce Vita. The fountain is more magical at night when it's all lit up.
15:31 That is the Victor Emmanuel II monument. It was built between 1885 and 1935 using white
15:44 marble. This big white building is one of the most famous places in Rome. It was built to
15:52 honor Victor Emmanuel 2, the first king of the United Italy. The monument features tall columns,
16:02 large statues, and broad steps. In the middle, there's a statue of the king riding a horse. You
16:13 can go to the top of the monument by elevator. From there, you get a great view of the city.
19:02 Today, it is a place with many ruins, yet it still reveals the power and vitality of ancient
19:11 Rome. If you liked this tour, please give us a like, share your thoughts in the comments,
